2018 AFC World Cup Qualification – Second Round
The top 34 teams plus winners from the first round play in eight groups of five teams each. The group winners plus four best teams in second place advance to the third round.

2018 AFC World Cup Qualification – Third Round
The group winners from the second round, along with the four best second place teams play in two groups of six teams each. The top two teams in each group qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The third place teams in each group play in a home and away series whereas the winner faces the fourth place CONCACAF team in a home and away series. The winner qualifies for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
