32 Flags 2015-16 EPL Fantasy Preview – Week 4

During every week of the English Premier League, we will provide an EPL fantasy preview the day before the start of the games as well as a recap the day after. Feel free to use this as a guide to make those last minute roster moves or to avoid who we pick as you make your team.

Week 4 is upon us. This will be the last chance to gain points before the international break so this is an important week to get some big points and ride the momentum into the break. We have the standings for the 32 Flags league here as well as the recap from last week. Without further ado, here’s who we are playing this weekend.

1) Mark – 12th place (no change) – 54 points this week – 134 points total

GK – Simon Mignolet – Liverpool
DEF – Phil Jagielka – Everton
DEF – Nathaniel Clyne – Liverpool
DEF – Vincent Kompany – Manchester City
MID – Eden Hazard – Chelsea
MID – Juan Mata – Manchester United
MID – Riyad Mahrez – Leicester City
MID – Yaya Toure (captain) – Manchester City
FW – Harry Kane – Tottenham
FW – Romelu Lukaku – Everton
FW – Bafetimbi Gomis – Swansea

Mark has a strong team and just made it better this week with the addition of Yaya Toure. Mark is definitely making a push to the top 10.

2) Jeff – 19th place (-1 position) – 44 points this week – 125 points total

GK – Kasper Schmeichel – Leicester City
DEF – John Stones – Everton
DEF – Phil Jagielka – Everton
DEF – Aleksandar Kolarov – Manchester City

MID – Ibrahim Afellay – Stoke
MID – Yaya Toure (captain) – Manchester City
MID – Santi Cazorla – Arsenal
MID – Cheikhou Kouyate – West Ham
FW – Harry Kane – Tottenham
FW – Christian Benteke – Liverpool

Jeff’s biggest change is that he has removed the captainship from Harry Kane and has given it to Yaya Toure. Toure is the hottest player of the two but will Jeff be missing out on the weekend where Kane finally gets it together?

3) Josh E. – T22nd place (+16 positions) – 55 points this week – 123 points total

GK – Joe Hart – Manchester City
DEF – Vincent Kompany – Manchester City
DEF – Phil Jagielka – Everton

MID – Eden Hazard (captain) – Chelsea
MID – Santi Cazorla – Arsenal
MID – Riyad Mahrez – Leicester City
MID – Marc Albrighton – Leicester City
FW – Harry Kane – Tottenham
FW – Diego Costa – Chelsea

TRANSFER: Riyad Mahrez for Nacer Chadli

10 of 11 spots are the same as last week when Josh scored 55 points. New guy Riyad Mahrez joins the squad for Nacer Chadli and is getting the start.

4) Evan – T27th place (+7 positions) – 50 points this week – 120 points total

GK – Sergio Romero – Manchester United
DEF – Neil Taylor – Swansea
DEF – Gary Cahill – Chelsea
DEF – Wes Morgan – Leicester City
DEF – Leighton Baines – Everton

MID – Yaya Toure (captain) – Manchester City
MID – Marc Albrighton – Leicester City
MID – Dusan Tadic – Southampton
FW – Callum Wilson – AFC Bournemouth
FW – Saido Bernahino – West Brom
FW – Harry Kane – Tottenham

TRANSFER: Marc Albrighton for Christen Eriksen

Evan has some injury issues and decided to get rid of Eriksen for Albrighton. Leighton Baines is forced to start even though he is also injured.

5) Andy – 31st place (+5 positions) – 48 points this week – 117 points total

GK – Joe Hart – Manchester City
DEF – Branislav Ivanovic – Chelsea
DEF – Martin Skrtel – Liverpool
DEF – Chris Smalling – Manchester United
MID – Nacer Chadli – Tottenham
MID – Roberto Firmino – Liverpool
MID – Raheem Sterling (captain) – Manchester City
MID – Cheikhou Kouyate – West Ham
FW – Troy Deeney – Watford
FW – Harry Kane – Tottenham
FW – Saido Berahino – West Brom

TRANSFER: Cheikhou Kouyate for Jason Puncheon

Andy didn’t make many changes either. Amid the multiple transfer requests turned down by West Brom, Berahino has a starting spot on Andy’s team despite not starting last week and the unknowns of his transfer situation.

6) Josh H. – 41st place (-18 positions) – 28 points this week – 107 points total

GK – Jack Butland – Stoke
DEF – Vincent Kompany – Manchester City
DEF – Phil Jagielka – Everton
DEF – Matteo Darmian – Manchester United
DEF – Branislav Ivanovic – Chelsea
MID – Aaron Ramsey – Arsenal

MID – Victor Wanyama – Southampton
MID – Gylfi Sigurdsson – Swansea
FW – Christian Benteke (captain) – Liverpool
FW – Wayne Rooney – Manchester United

TRANSFERS: Matteo Darmian for Ashley Williams and Tim Krul for Thibaut Courtois

Josh is going to try and ride the wave of the clean sheets up in Manchester by picking up Matteo Darmian.

7) Phillip – 48th place (+11 positions) – 61 points this week – 98 points total

GK – Sergio Romero – Manchester United
DEF – Luke Shaw – Manchester United
DEF – Aleksandar Kolarov – Manchester City
DEF – Vincent Kompany – Manchester City
DEF – Joe Gomez – Liverpool
MID – Andre Ayew – Swansea
MID – Riyad Mahrez – Leicester City
MID – Marc Albrighton – Leicester City
FW – Sergio Aguero (captain) – Manchester City
FW – Bafetimbi Gomis – Swansea
FW – Olivier Giroud – Arsenal

TRANSFER: Joe Gomez for Phil Jagielka

Like Josh, I am trying to keep the clean sheets going with the Manchester’s and Liverpool by picking up Joe Gomez. While Sergio Aguero hasn’t had a great start of the season fantasy-wise, I’m still inclined to make him captain as Manchester City is playing Watford at the Etihad.
