VIDEO: Colombia scores its 1st goal in WWC history in exquisite fashion

Nothing like getting the World Cup scoring drought of a nation off your back in your first match of the 2015 Women’s World Cup. For Colombia it also meant doing it against a more experienced side in Mexico.

Daniela Montoya’s rocket shot from just outside the penalty box not only was a thing of exquisite beauty, but also a vital shot in the arm towards advancement. Her goal in the 82nd minute knotted the match up at 1-1 and gave her team its first point of the tournament as well.
