Oh You Beauty!: Goals of the Week 2/16/2015

5. Daniel Sturridge vs Crystal Palace

Daniel Sturridge continues to show just what Liverpool were missing while he was hurt. A real goal poacher’s effort, a lot of credit needs to go to Jordan Henderson for serving this goal up on a platter for Sturridge with a great cross into the box. Sturridge happily obliges, blasting the ball into the keeper, who isn’t able to stop it deflecting into the net.

4. Olivier Giroud vs Middlebrough

This was a clinically taken goal by Olivier Giroud. Two minutes after Giroud’s first goal, the ball goes out for an Arsenal corner. The corner is hit towards the near post. Towards Giroud. With a skip, Giroud volley’s the ball with a thunderous strike past the keeper. Well hit.

3. Isco vs Deportivo

The first of two long goals, Isco receives the ball completely unmarked at the top of the box. He is allowed to control the ball unpressured and curl the ball into the side netting. Diabolical defending matched by a great shot.

2. Arjen Robben vs Hamburg

The third goal in this utter rout of Hamburg, Robben receives the ball some way out from goal. He does well to glide past 3 Hamburg players and ease the ball into the net from outside the box.

1. Luis Suarez vs Levante

Suarez always had an eye for the spectacular so it’s great to see that that hasn’t disappeared at Barcelona. This goal is your quintessential overhead kick. The initial cross was a little behind Luis, so with a quick twist and an acrobatic kick, he smashes home a wonderstrike.
