WATCH: USMNT net pair of goals just before half to go up 3-0

The United States up 1-0 has been a thing of beauty, with the USMNT going for the jugular ever since the goal in the 9th minute of action. A key to a lot of the attack has been central forward Clint Dempsey.

He scored the first goal, and with the team searching for a big victory he pressed and got himself the ball often. After a few frustrating runs snuffed out, Dempsey had a very successful run end in dramatic fashion thanks to Jermaine Jones.

2-0 USMNT sounded even better, but the Yanks were far from done attacking and just minutes later it was another pest for the Ticos getting his name on the scoreboard. This time it was Bobby Wood netting one in the 42nd minute to give the USMNT a 3-0 lead before the halftime whistle even sounded.
