Spain may have a healthy Diego Costa for the World Cup

Diego Costa’s status for Spain during the 2014 World Cup looked pretty grim during the Champions League Final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. Costa was subbed out approximately nine minutes into the Final, signaling that the injury to his hamstring is still lingering.

As Spain prepares to name their final squad for the Cup, Costa’s health appears to be rounding into form. Head coach Vicente del Bosque stated that “the outlook is good” regarding both Costa and Jesus Navas and their availability and health for the World Cup.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens, but it sounds like extremely positive news for Spain. From a neutral fan’s perspective, a healthy Costa is important for the tournament. Aside from the fact his rise to fame this season was one of the best stories of the year, who wouldn’t want to see Costa suit up for Spain after snubbing the Brazilian national team?
