It was starting to become desperate for Atletico Madrid. Antoine Griezmann missed a penalty early in the second half and Simeone’s side was pushing hard for an equalizer. It was the substitute Yannick Carrasco that answered the call.
Carrasco was brought on at the start of the second half to add pace to the Atletico lineup, and as the second half went on it became clear that Real Madrid was content to sit deep and soak up the pressure. Carrasco’s pace was needed to get in behind the Real defense and poke home a cross from Juanfran. Carrasco then ran over to the sidelines and found a young woman with which to share a passionate kiss. Presumably, his wife or girlfriend.
Just seconds before Real Madrid had a chance to make it 2-0, but a Gareth Bale shot was cleared off the line. Atletico countered and Carrasco scored.
Carrasco comes off the bench to tie it up! Will another Real-Atletico #UCLfinal go to extra time? @HeinekenSoccer https://t.co/pIJizgmjBU
