Through one and a half games Switzerland were one of the least impressive teams at Euro 2016 in France. They were outplayed in their first match against a 10 men Albania side, and it’s very easy to say they would not have gotten all three points had Albania had 11 men the whole match.
To start off match number two it was more of the same. Romania jumped out to a lead on a Bogdan Sancu penalty, and created enough chances that they should have gone into the half ahead by more than a goal.
Switzerland had some chances themselves, but they either miraculously shot wide or fired right at the keeper. Finally in the 57th minute they got themselves a corner kick. The initial kick was cleared away, but only as far as left winger Admir Mehmedi, who fired a laser off a half volley into the far corner of the goal to equalize.
Game on.
