It looked as if West Ham was going to come away with a big three points when they took a 2-1 lead late into the match against Tottenham. Then Harry Kane happened.
In the 88th minute, Kane scored a traditional number 9 kind of goal. The ball came in from a wide area and was just out of the reach for the West Ham keeper. Kane was in the right place at the right time and made no mistake. It looked as if Spurs were going to rescue a point, but West Ham felt generous and conceded a terrible penalty. Son Heung-min was taken down by the trailing leg of Havard Nordtveit.
Harry Kane, having just scored stepped up and place the ball to the keepers right and found the back of the net. Things fell apart further for West Ham as shortly after Winston Reid was sent off. Kane’s heroics saved Tottenham’s unbeaten start to the season which now stands at 12 games. It’s four games shy of their 1960 record when they won the league.
