As fans of both Manchester City and Manchester United will tell you, there are no similarities between the two teams except maybe that they’re both from Manchester. But given the first half if their Champions League games, they sure are playing similarly.
Both teams scored early in the first half and then minutes later, allowed their German opponent to score due to rather comical defending by both Manchester teams. Manchester United started this first. After Anthony Martial scored, Wolfsburg won a free kick and after Ricardo Rodriguez took his free kick from 35 yards, Naldo got his flick on and scored the equalizer. Why United felt that they could leave half the goal, the half that couldn’t be covered by David de Gea, without someone to defend that, I have no clue.

Manchester City followed through a few minutes later when David Silva scored against Monchengladbach. Then a few minutes after, Lars Stindl broke through the Man City defense like they would rather be anywhere else than playing soccer and passed off to Julian Korb who put the ball in the back of the net.
