George is a nine-year old Everton fan who has cerebral palsy, but he doesn’t let cerebral palsy get the better of him as he plays the game he loves, rooting for the team he loves and wanting to play like his favorite player, forward Gerard Deulofeu.
After a video of George showing off his moves on the pitch went viral a couple weeks ago, Deulofeu wanted to invite George to Goodison Park and meet the kid who Deulofeu has called “an inspiration” to him.

At the game, George was invited to go on the Goodison Park pitch during halftime and show off his skills in front of the Everton fans. After taking a couple touches, like a natural finisher, George clinically put the ball into the back of the net in front of cheers and applause from the Everton fans.

Watching the game, if I was manager Roberto Martinez, I may have wanted to check to see if I could have subbed George into the game. Everton struggled on the attacking end of the pitch and George could have tested the Swansea defenders and try to at least get a draw. Ah well, even though Everton lost to Swansea 2-1 at Goodison Park, one Everton fan left the stadium as happy as he could possibly be and it’ll be a moment he’ll remember for the rest of his life.
