They don’t call him “Money” for nothing.
At a press event in Bolton, England, Floyd Mayweather was seen holding a Bolton Wanderer’s jersey with his name on the back and the number “49” since he’s 49-0 as a boxer.

Since being in the English Premier League in 2011, Bolton has been in freefall mode as a Championship team and have been getting deeper and deeper in debt over the past half decade. With the team sinking further and further down the standings, Bolton currently sit 24th out of 24 teams in the Championship and are in danger of relegating to League One for the first time since 1993. Even worse, the team is in danger of falling into administration (bankruptcy) and that will prompt Bolton to go into an even deeper hole as they reconfigure their finances as well as undergoing a severe point penalty from the English FA. With realistic relegation and administration fears in the heads of Bolton fans, this event prompted some requests from fans to have the cash infused boxer to buy the cash strapped team and avoid administration.

@OfficialBWFC @FloydMayweather next time we can't pay staff, how about we ask Floyd to come over and 'make it rain'?

I highly doubt Floyd Mayweather could be bothered owning a likely third level soccer team in the north of England who is £174 million in debt but I can’t fault the fans for trying. Either way, Bolton fans are hoping to find an owner who can turn their team around before it gets any worse.
