The first half of El Clasico was a bit disjointed and uncharacteristic of the beauty of La Liga soccer. Play was defensive, highly physical and designed to stop and start to keep anyone from having any momentum.
This changed in the second half and specifically in the 56th minute. Gerard Pique shook off his defender and got his head on the end of Ivan Rakitic’s corner kick to put the La Liga leaders up 1-0 at the Nou Camp.

But Real Madrid didn’t give up. Just seven minutes after going behind, Karim Benzema connected on a beauty of an overhead goal to put Real even with Barcelona after 63 minutes.

The replay showed a better view as Benzema was focused and concentrated on that ball to put it in the back of the net and make this El Clasico go down to a thrilling finish.
