Well, that’s not entirely true. West Ham’s Andy Carroll scored three goals and technically were within eight minutes but separated by halftime. Regardless, it’s an incredible feat that helped West Ham achieve a 3-3 draw against Arsenal.
His first, a powerful header off a cross from Aaron Cresswell in the 44th minute put West Ham within a goal after Arsenal was already up 2-0.
Then, right before the end of the first half, Carroll was able to receive the long pass from Mark Noble. He was so open in the box that he was able to set it down and take a shot before it got blocked. Carroll proceeded to volley the rebound home.
The final goal and the one that would put West Ham up, came in the 52nd minute. Carroll rose up to head in the cross from Michail Antonio and celebrated with the fans.
West Ham wasn’t able to keep the lead as Arsenal scored an equalizer but that is still a big point against a top four team by a team with top four aspirations of their own. West Ham currently sit 6th, a point behind Manchester United and two points behind Manchester City with them still needing to play this weekend.
