The ongoing soap opera between Landon Donovan and Jurgen Klinsmann took a rather interesting turn of events today as Alexi Lalas and Grant Wahl, in their series of tweets, pulled another layer back on this in-house rivalry in US Soccer.
LD told @GrantWahl he didn’t speak to @J_Klinsmann re final #USMNT gm & Klinsmann’s son never apologized for tweet. http://t.co/NfJVy8Di4J

I don’t know what is truth and what is fiction, but it just seems like Landon Donovan and Jurgen Klinsmann are two fighting parents in a loveless marriage and every US Soccer fan is a child who is caught in the middle. Some children side with Donovan, some side with Klinsmann and the rest just don’t want to see them fighting anymore. I personally am at a point where I just want them to get along until after Friday’s game. If the two feel like beating each other up or talking it out or just ignoring each other, so be it. Neither person is particularly noble in this and both won’t ever acknowledge their own faults so they won’t be changing the opinions of each other anytime soon.
A source in my head tells me that I don’t really care about any of this.

Couldn’t say it better myself, Alexi. The story is so disappointing and wrong considering what is supposed to be a celebration on Friday, but we do have to talk about it.
