Chelsea and Everton had the prospect of a high scoring game. In the last four Premier League matches between the two teams, they scored a total of 20 goals. So while there weren’t any goals for the first 19 minutes, Chelsea took care of that with two goals within a minute.

The first, a long range strike from the side of the box by Eden Hazard was beautiful but sparked some controversy as Pedro may have been offside and impeded Maarten Stekelenburg for the goal. Replay showed that it was incredibly close but the linesman decided to err on the side of caution.
Then, before Everton could even react to the first goal, Chelsea scored again just 65 seconds later. The pass by Pedro went behind Diego Costa but it fell right to a running Marcos Alonso who finished for a 2-0 Chelsea lead.
Looks like history wasn’t wrong and we’re set for some goals today.
