Team News:

Chelsea:

Aside for the injuries to Andre Schurrle and John Obi Mikel, Chelsea have a full squad for today’s cup tie. Azpilicueta may return to the lineup but will find it difficult to dislodge Felipe Luis. Expect Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, to field a strong lineup after their disappointing loss to Bradford City in the FA Cup.

Liverpool:

Liverpool will again be without the injured Jon Flanagan and Brad Jones. Daniel Sturridge has returned to full training but may be a few days away from being considered fully fit. If he passes the late fitness test, he will most likely only be on the bench for this cup match. A more realistic return game will be this weekends match against West Ham United. Steven Gerrard and Martin Skrtel are expected to return to the starting lineup after being rested in the FA Cup match against Bolton over the weekend.

Last Meeting:

The last meeting was just last week in a thrilling 1-1 draw at Anfield in the first leg of the Capitol One Cup Semi-Final. Mourinho will be the happier of the two coaches, having gotten away with a draw when his squad were tested throughout the second half.

Things to Watch For:

There were sparks between Chelsea striker Diego Costa and Liverpool vice captain Jordan Henderson during the game. The pair had to be separated in the tunnel after the game as well. Viewers should be ready for more of this today.
