Hygiene is very important, especially on game day when fans can be packed tightly together in their seats. Some fans of Scottish club Celtic have had to be reminded recently. After a glut of complaints have been filed into the club, Celtic have been forced to send a letter to fans.
The letter was penned by Celtic’s supporter liaison officer, John Paul Taylor. His position is backed by UEFA and was designed to act as a dedicated point of contact for the fans of the club.
The message was sent to one section of the main stand’s season ticket holders after it was found the complaints were mostly coming from that section.
Taylor, as the author of the message, reminded fans to not show up to games with “excessive BO”. The smell had unfortunately begun negatively “impacting on the experience” of the matches.
Taylor would later confirm the letter on Twitter. The tweet has since been deleted, but it has been reported to have said, “I can exclusively reveal its genuine, dispatched at the request of incumbents within the locale.” Celtic fans were quick to confirm their receiving of the letter on Twitter as well. Prior to this the letter was thought to be a hoax.
Celtic fans warned about hygiene. I thought this a humorous wind up. No. It's true. It really happened. Sit back and take that in.
