Manchester United is in the middle of its partnership with adidas, and those who pay attention to uniforms know there is a sea-change happening within the design elements for the German-based apparel maker.
That sea-change will include one of its biggest properties — Manchester United.
According to Footy Headlines, the kit will be released in May of 2016 and the look is a rather larger departure from current looks from adidas.
One of the biggest changes is easy to see, as the famous three stripes of adidas won’t be located on the shoulders. Instead, adidas’ 2016-17 template appears to have the stripes down the side of the jersey.
It isn’t unlike the previously leaked Chelsea look either, so this change shouldn’t be surprising.
There’s also the change to the modern collar and it being the same as the main color of the kit, unlike recent ones from the Red Devils.
The report indicates traditional white shorts and black socks will continue to be worn by the club.
At first the kit looked a bit like a training one, but the upright view of the kit shows much more detail to what it will look like and it actually looks sharp. Sure, it is plain, but sometimes plain is better and given the massive Chevrolet logo on the chest, the all red look actually is the right move here.
