Watch: Dele Alli doubles Tottenham’s advantage before halftime

Tottenham has gotten off to a great start in a battle between the top 2 teams in the Premier League. After going up 1-0 on a Kolarov own goal, the London side kept pressuring Manchester City for much of the half. Frequently disrupting City’s intricate passing, Spurs were able to double their advantage shortly before half-time.

Erik Lamela won the ball at midfield which fell to Heung-Min Son. Son played it to Dele Alli who tried to play it back to Lamela. His pass wasn’t very successful but luckily for Alli, the ball bounced back to Son who quickly played the ball back to Alli. The England international quickly fired the ball into the net to give his side a 2-0 lead.

The score would stay the same until half-time, and Spurs are looking like a good bet to put an end to Pep Guardiola’s perfect Premier League record.
