Video: Welbeck finishes off fantastic team goal to put Arsenal 1-0 up

Peter Drury said it best when Danny Welbeck put Arsenal into the lead at Goodison Park, “When Arsenal purr, they are still beautiful to behold.” Unfortunately for Arsenal, however, they’ve been sputtering more often than they’ve been purring. Welbeck’s goal, though, is a good example of how good the North London side can be when they want to.

Welbeck’s opener rounded off a wonderful passing display that worked the ball from one side of the pitch to the other. The best of Arsenal’s movement came with a lovely give and go between Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil, right before Sanchez played a perfectly weighted pass to Welbeck. The striker perfectly flicked the ball away from and then rounded Everton Keeper Joel Robles. From there, all Welbeck had to do was roll the ball into an empty net.
