Watch: Robert Snodgrass gives Hull City the lead with brilliant free-kick

If Hull City are going to have any hope of climbing out of the bottom three, they will need to start picking up points in a hurry. Against Everton today they got off to a great start by opening the scoring six minutes in. However, thanks to a howler from keeper David Marshall, they went into halftime level at one.

Hull could have fallen apart in the second, but they came out strongly. Robert Snodgrass nearly gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead with a free kick at the start of the half. His shot hit the crossbar, but he would get another chance soon after. In the 65th minute, Snodgrass took a free-kick in a similar position to his first. Where he failed the first time around, the Scot succeeded in his second attempt. Snodgrass curled the ball around the Everton wall and Jole Robles could only get the softest of touches to it. If Hull can hold on and get three points, that free-kick will be a perfect way to ring in the new year for a team that can’t wait for 2016 to end.
