Liverpool has missed Daniel Sturridge’s ability to put the ball in the net over the past few months. The young forward has been dealing with injuries for some time and hadn’t started a match since picking up a hamstring injury back in December. He managed to get right back on the score sheet, though, scoring a header from a perfect cross only 15 minutes into the match.
Jürgen Klopp started Sturridge in place of Christian Benteke, and it’s made plenty of difference, as the England international seems to have not missed a step.
Shortly after James Milner extended Liverpool’s lead, as the Reds have been in cruise control against Villa in the first half.
