VIDEO: Bendtner scores highly controversial goal against Leverkusen

In an important match for both sides, Bayer Leverkusen and Wolfsburg traded goals in the first half, but it was Wolfsburg’s goal that has left everyone talking. Nicklas Bendtner scored.

No, that’s not why this goal was so memorable, it was because of how far offside Vieirinha was before playing the pass to Bendtner who scored.

The linesman couldn’t have possibly felt that Vieirinha was even close to onside, so the only excuse is that the linesman thought the ball was played back by Leverkusen’s Kevin Kampl. If Kampl played the ball it would have been a good goal, but replay clearly showed that Schürrle made the pass.

Germany legend, and Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Völler came down from the stands to berate the 4th official to no avail.

Leverkusen did level the score a few minutes later with a Javier Hernandez header.
