Rodolph Austin was the hero for Jamaica in their game against Canada in the Gold Cup, scoring the winner in the 92nd minute of the match. The match was scoreless up until the Jamaican captain scored the goal for his squad securing the 1-0 win.
The match was a drab affair between both squads as Jamaica looked to be the only team on the field leaving Canada to defend basically the whole game.
The Reggae Boyz were the dominant squad the whole game, as their midfield and attacking prowess was too much for Canada to handle. Jamaica’s best chance before the goal came in the first half where Canada’s David Edgar had to clear a dangerous ball from his goal line to keep the game scoreless.
Jamaica had great looks the whole match but, unfortunately for them, none of their chances seemed to go in. That is, until the 92nd minute of the game when a great cross from Garath McCleary found an unmarked Austin in the box. Austin had a free look at net and scored the game winner in the last possible moment for Jamaica. Take a look.
