Watch: Jesse Lingard scores sensational individual goal in Community Shield

The last time two English clubs were playing a competitive football match at Wembley Stadium, it was Jesse Lingard who scored a sensational goal to win the FA Cup for Manchester United.

Fast forward two and a half months and the next time two English clubs are playing at Wembley is the annual curtain raiser known as the Community Shield. Playing in front of a new manager, all the United players were eager to impress Jose Mourinho and show him that they deserve a place in the squad.

It didn’t take long for Jesse Lingard. Just after a half hour he picked up a loose ball and dazzled his way through nearly the entire Leicester City team before calmly finishing to give United a 1-0 lead.

UPDATE:

It may be a new year, but Jamie Vardy is still having a party. The English striker ran onto the end of a horrific Mourane Fellaini back pass to equalize for Leicester.
