SC Braga arrived for their Europa League match against Marseille at the Stade Velodrome only to find their shooting boots missing. Literally.
The club was shocked to discover that every pair of boots, which they have said was three pairs per player, had been stolen from their dressing room following Wednesday nights training session. UEFA said the match must be played, and if Braga could not play in the match, not only would they be kicked out of the competition but they would face a heavy fine as well, forcing Braga officials to scramble to find last minute pairs of boots for all their players.
The job was made even more difficult when the club had to factor in brand sponsorships for certain players when buying them new boots.
Braga did end up getting their boots in time, but are playing the game under protest claiming the French club is to blame for their boots going missing.
You also have to give a round of applause to UEFA who did absolutely nothing to help the situation.
