There are five players said to have scored over 1000 goals in their careers. Pelé, Gerd Müller, Franz Binder, Josef Bican, and Arthur Friendenreich all have scored 1000+ goals in their careers and up to this point it doesn’t seem that anyone is even close to breaking that milestone anytime soon. However, Cristiano Ronaldo is halfway there.
In Real Madrid’s Champions League match vs Malmö of Sweden, Cristiano Ronaldo scored a relatively easy goal for his 500th career goal. This is a huge milestone as no other current player has 500 goals so far.
The following tweet breaks down CR7’s goal tallies with each one of his teams:

Over 300 goals with Real Madrid and counting is an impressive stat by itself, but you factor in the number of goals he’s scored with Portugal, as he is the leading scorer in Portuguese football history, it makes his milestone pretty much astounding.
Take a look at the historic goal:

What looked like an easy goal was only made to look all the easier with Ronaldo coming in unmarked and made the Malmö defense pay for their mistakes to give Real Madrid the 1-0 lead. And if that wasn’t enough Cristiano Ronaldo scored his second in the same game to become level with Raúl for Real Madrid’s all-time leading scorer.

Take a look as Ronaldo chips a beauty of a goal thanks to Lucas Vázquez’s assist to put Real up by two.
We will only wait and see what CR7 has in store for us, as he is still only 30 years old and has a lot left in the tank for the foreseeable future.
