Liverpool is now knocking at the door of placing in the top four of the English Premier League standings after their 1-0 victory on the road at Swansea. Liverpool is now unbeaten in their last 13 league games, and have won 10 of those 13.
The Reds remain fifth in the Premier League table (54 points) but are just two points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, who they host on Sunday. Arsenal is in third place with 57 points and Manchester City is in second place with 58 points. All teams trail Chelsea at the top.
Brendan Rodgers’ side increased the tempo and moments after bringing on club captain Steven Gerrard they took the lead with a fortuitous bounce as Jordan Henderson was credited with the game-winning goal.
As mentioned prior, Liverpool takes on Manchester United on Sunday, March 22nd at home. A win would vault Liverpool into one of the top four spots in the Premier League.
After League matches are wrapped up, Liverpool FC has a two-game stint in Australia. First on July 17th, Liverpool faces Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium with tickets starting from $221 according to QueenofTickets.com. On July 20th, the Reds face Adelaide United at the Adelaide Oval with Liverpool tickets starting at $243.
Tickets were made available for both matches in early February and the match on July 20th sold out in a matter of hours. The news signals the huge support and fan base for the club in Australia, where more than 95,000 people gathered to watch Liverpool in action at Melbourne Cricket Ground in 2013. Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel commented on the 2015 tour, saying, “Australia is far from here so when we do the things that we do on tour, it’s good – the fans can see us over there, because they can’t come here and see us at Anfield. I can’t wait.”
It will be Liverpool’s first ever visit to Adelaide.
