VIDEO: Villarreal defender suffers worst injury ever

Villarreal are sitting in sixth spot in the La Liga standings, with little hope of making it to the Champions League and barely holding on to a Europa League qualifying spot as well. The stretch run is going to be crucial to those hopes, but they also took a major blow this weekend.

That’s because star Argentinian, and summer transfer target for many EPL clubs, defender Mateo Musacchio’s promising career took a dark turn this weekend. As he went to go for a 50/50 ball, Musacchio’s ankle turned…o.k., more like went 90 degrees to the ground.

WARNING: This isn’t for the weak of stomach and is simply one of the most gruesome injuries we’ve seen on the pitch.
