32 Flags 2015-16 EPL Fantasy Preview – Week 2

During every week of the English Premier League, we will provide an EPL fantasy preview the day before the start of the games as well as a recap the day after. Feel free to use this as a guide to make those last minute roster moves or to avoid who we pick as you make your team.

Week 2 is upon us and now we have a little more sense of how everyone is doing in fantasy. There still isn’t much to go off of but it’s a start. Some of us have made changes, some haven’t. It is apparently still too early to utilize the wildcard because none of us have used that yet.

1) Mark – T17th place – 37 points this week – 37 points total

GK – Simon Mignolet – Liverpool
DEF – Phil Jagielka – Everton
DEF – Nathaniel Clyne – Liverpool
DEF – Jose Fonte – Southampton
MID – Eden Hazard (captain) – Chelsea
MID – Juan Mata – Manchester United
MID – Jordan Henderson – Liverpool
MID – Nacer Chadli – Tottenham
FW – Harry Kane – Tottenham
FW – Wayne Rooney – Manchester United
FW – Graziano Pelle – Southampton

2) Evan – T24th place – 35 points this week – 35 points total

GK – Sergio Romero – Manchester United
DEF – Branislav Ivanovic – Chelsea
DEF – Gary Cahill – Chelsea
DEF – Wes Morgan – Leicester City
DEF – Laurent Koscielny – Arsenal
MID – Nacer Chadli – Tottenham
MID – Jordan Henderson (captain) – Liverpool
MID – Christian Eriksen – Tottenham
MID – Dusan Tadic – Southampton
FW – Saido Bernahino – West Brom
FW – Harry Kane – Tottenham

Transfers: Sergio Romero for Thibaut Courtois

Evan has a jump on many of the other writers but he is still tinkering with the lineup and making changes left and right. Taking Thibaut Courtois out for Sergio Romero, putting Wes Morgan in for Leighton Baines and Christian Eriksen for Yaya Toure.

3) Andy – T31st place – 32 points this week – 32 points total

GK – Adrian – West Ham
DEF – Phil Jagielka – Everton
DEF – Martin Skrtel – Liverpool
DEF – Daryl Janmaat – Newcastle
MID – Nacer Chadli – Tottenham
MID – Christian Eriksen – Tottenham
MID – Raheem Sterling – Manchester City
MID – Roberto Firmino – Liverpool
FW – Troy Deeney – Watford
FW – Saido Bernahino – West Brom
FW – Harry Kane – Tottenham

Transfers: Troy Deeney for Peter Crouch

Andy’s big move was benching his captain and top point getter Joe Hart in favor of Adrian. There is logic behind this move. Adrian is going against Leicester City and Manchester City is playing Chelsea so it’s a move that makes sense.

4) Josh E. – T41st place – 28 points this week – 28 points total

GK – Joe Hart – Chelsea
DEF – John Terry – Chelsea
DEF – Phil Jagielka – Everton
DEF – Nathaniel Clyne – Liverpool
DEF – Wes Morgan – Leicester City
MID – Eden Hazard (captain) – Chelsea
MID – Santi Cazorla – Arsenal
MID – Nacer Chadli – Tottenham
MID – Victor Wanyama – Southampton
FW – Harry Kane – Tottenham
FW – Saido Bernahino – West Brom

Victor Wanyama for Ki Sung Yueng is Josh’s only lineup change. Josh had a very solid week and hopes that keeps up.

5) Josh H. – T50th place – 25 points this week – 25 points total

GK – Jack Butland – Stoke
DEF – Vincent Kompany – Manchester City
DEF – Phil Jagielka – Everton
DEF – Ashley Williams – Swansea
DEF – Branislav Ivanovic – Chelsea
MID – Aaron Ramsey – Arsenal
MID – David Silva – Manchester City
MID – Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – Arsenal
MID – Gylfi Sigurdsson – Swansea
FW – Christian Benteke – Liverpool
FW – Wayne Rooney (captain) – Manchester United

Transfers: Micah Richards for Nathan Baker and Vincent Kompany for Gary Cahill (no wildcard)

Josh only made a couple changes to his lineup. Because of the Courtois red, Jack Butland is entering the team and newly acquired Vincent Kompany is replacing Gary Cahill. They looked good last week so maybe that momentum will carry them on.

6) Jeff – T54th place – 24 points this week – 24 points total

GK – Lukasz Fabianski – Swansea
DEF – John Stones – Everton
DEF – Angelo Ogbonna – West Ham
DEF – Per Mertesacker – Arsenal
MID – Ibrahim Afellay – Stoke
MID – Nacer Chadli – Tottenham
MID – Jordan Henderson – Liverpool
MID – Santi Cazorla – Arsenal
MID – Cheikhou Kouyate – West Ham
FW – Harry Kane – Tottenham
FW – Christian Benteke (captain) – Liverpool

Transfers: Cheikhou Kouyate for Jordy Clasie

Jeff is taking some chances going for some players who may be considered “off the radar” but players like Ogbonna, Afellay and Kouyate may pay off as they’re getting solid playing time.

7) Phillip – 59th place – 16 points this week – 16 points total

GK – Adrian – West Ham
DEF – John Terry – Chelsea
DEF – Joleon Lescott – West Brom
DEF – Phil Jagielka – Everton
DEF – Branislav Ivanovic – Chelsea
MID – Philippe Coutinho (captain) – Liverpool
MID – Santi Cazorla – Arsenal
MID – Jack Colback – Newcastle
FW – Graziano Pelle – Southampton
FW – Harry Kane – Tottenham
FW – Aleksandar Mitrovic – Newcastle

Transfers: Philippe Coutinho for Jordan Henderson

After Coutinho‘s terrific goal, Phillip is looking for him to light the spark on this struggling team as Liverpool plays Bournemouth.
