During every week of the English Premier League, we will provide an EPL fantasy recap the day after the final EPL game of the weekend as well as a preview the day before.
Week 3 is in the books and it’s getting tougher and tougher to move up the table in the 32 Flags fantasy league. As always, every week, we will recognize the person who had the best score every week as well as the top person in the table.
This week, the team of the week belongs to Maxwell Levy with New Blue Army. Maxwell scored 67 points thanks to playing his wildcard and great performances including goalkeeper Sergio Romero (6) and defenders Aleksandar Kolarov (15), Luke Shaw (6) and Joe Gomez (5) as well as midfielder Riyad Mahrez (10). Now onto our writers, we will go from best to worst.

Sometimes it pays to be lucky than good and that applied to Mark here. After starting Jordan Henderson not knowing if he would be out of the game, Henderson wound up not playing and was subbed out for Steven Taylor worth £4.0 mil. Taylor got a clean sheet and Mark got some nice value from that play. Mark remains the leader among the writers and is just outside the top ten.
NOTE: Steven Taylor was automatically substituted in for Jordan Henderson.
2) Jeff – 19th place (-1 position) – 44 points this week – 125 points total
GK – Lukasz Fabianski – Swansea – 2
DEF – Joel Ward – Crystal Palace – 1

Jeff played his wildcard and got a very respectable 44 points to maintain his status quo in the top 20. While the defense wasn’t all that good this week, Kolarov just about made up for that.
NOTE: John Stones was automatically substituted in for Jordan Henderson.
3) Josh E. – T22nd place (+16 positions) – 55 points this week – 123 points total
GK – Joe Hart – Manchester City – 6

Josh moved up 16 spots with a great week capitalizing with Diego Costa getting a goal and an assist. By moving up from 6th to 3rd among the writers, Josh is back in the game.
4) Evan – T27th place (+7 positions) – 50 points this week – 120 points total

MID – Christian Eriksen – Tottenham – 0
MID – Dusan Tadic – Southampton – 0
FW – Callum Wilson – AFC Bournemouth – 17
FW – Saido Bernahino – West Brom – 0
FW – Harry Kane – Tottenham – 2
Like Mark, Evan got lucky with the automatic substitutions. In fact, he may have been the luckiest. Evan had Callum Wilson and all of his hat trick performance of 17 points subbed in for Laurent Koscielny and really dodged a bullet. He wasn’t that lucky as he benched Tim Krul even though he got 11 points but starter Sergio Romero got a clean sheet so it’s not too bad.
NOTE: Laurent Koscielny was automatically substituted in for Callum Wilson.
5) Andy – 31st place (+5 positions) – 48 points this week – 117 points total
GK – Joe Hart – Manchester City – 6
DEF – Branislav Ivanovic – Chelsea – 1

DEF – Chris Smalling – Manchester United – 6
DEF – Phil Jagielka – Everton – 1

MID – Roberto Firmino – Liverpool – 3
MID – Raheem Sterling (captain) – Manchester City – 12
MID – Jason Puncheon – Crystal Palace – 4
FW – Troy Deeney – Watford – 2
FW – Harry Kane – Tottenham – 2
A bunch of clean sheets as well as a solid performance by captain Raheem Sterling helped Andy move up some spots.
NOTE: Phil Jagielka and Roberto Firmino was automatically substituted for Christian Eriksen and Saido Bernahino.

FW – Wayne Rooney (captain) – Manchester United – 4
Josh had a pretty bad week and tumbled down the standings. Kompany had a great game but after that, things took a turn for the worse.
7) Phillip – 48th place (+11 positions) – 61 points this week – 98 points total
GK – Sergio Romero – Manchester United – 6

FW – Sergio Aguero (captain) – Manchester City – 4
FW – Bafetimbi Gomis – Swansea – 6
FW – Olivier Giroud – Arsenal – 2
I only got one thing to say about this weekend.
Yes, I played my wildcard and completely gutted my lineup to get 13 new players and it resulted in a vast improvement. Kolarov and Mahrez had huge games as well as a goal by Gomis and clean sheets from Kompany, Shaw and Romero. Great week after a couple of terrible weeks.
