WATCH: Chelsea’s Pedro scores within 30 seconds against Manchester United

The anticipated matchup between Chelsea and Manchester United got off to an unexpected start. What was likely going to be a defensive battle between two defensive managers, a goal was scored within 30 seconds and likely forced some excitement throughout the game.

After a defending shambles by the Manchester United backline and leading goalkeeper David de Gea to come out of his box, De Gea missed the ball and left Pedro with a wide open goal to put Chelsea ahead after just 30 seconds.

Gary Cahill made it 2-0 off a corner kick in the 22nd minute.

Mourinho’s gameplan to park and counter immediately became invalid. Unlike their 0-0 draw to Liverpool on Monday, United is going to have to go on the attack at some point if they want a result in Jose Mourinho’s return to Stamford Bridge.
