32 Flags 2015-16 EPL Fantasy Recap – Week 6

During every week of the English Premier League, we will provide an EPL fantasy recap the day after the final EPL game of the weekend as well as a preview the day before.

Week 6 really gave people some issues while others thrived. Be sure to visit the 32 Flags fantasy league to check the full standings or sign up if you haven’t already. As always, every week, we will recognize the person who had the best score every week as well as the top person in the table.

This week, the team of the week belongs to Stan Pasukinis and River Schuylkill Stan scored 66 points thanks to having three players score in the double digits (Riyad Mahrez, Sergio Aguero and Graziano Pelle). That will get you a pretty good shot at moving up the table.

Now onto our writers, we will go from best to worst.

1) Josh E. – 18th place (+2 positions) – 45 points this week – 249 points total

GK – Joe Hart – Manchester City – 1
DEF – Aaron Cresswell – West Ham – 2
DEF – Phil Jagielka – Everton – 6
DEF – Aleksandar Kolarov – Manchester City – 0

MID – Marc Albrighton – Leicester City – 1
MID – Victor Wanyama – Southampton – 2
FW – Bafetimbi Gomis – Swansea – 2
FW – Diego Costa – Chelsea – 1

Josh did wonderfully with Hazard and Mahrez and that really vaulted him up the table. Josh will need to come up with an idea for Diego Costa now that he’s suspended for three games.

2) Jeff – 27th place (-9 positions) – 30 points this week – 237 points total

GK – Lukasz Fabianski – Swansea – 6
DEF – John Stones – Everton – 8
DEF – Phil Jagielka – Everton – 6
DEF – Aleksandar Kolarov – Manchester City – 0

MID – Santi Cazorla – Arsenal – -1
MID – Cheikhou Kouyate – West Ham – 0
FW – Harry Kane – Tottenham – 2
FW – Christian Benteke – Liverpool – 1
FW – Daniel Sturridge – Liverpool – 2

Jeff had a rough weekend. Stones is hurt, Kouyate is hurt, Benteke is hurt, Cazorla got negative points. It could be a rough go in the next few weeks.

3) Pauly – 30th place (just joined) – 55 points this week – 234 points total

GK – Lukasz Fabianski – Swansea – 6

FW – Callum Wilson – AFC Bournemouth – 7
FW – Sergio Aguero – Manchester City – 5
FW – Bafetimbi Gomis (captain) – Swansea – 4

NOTE: Pedro was automatically substituted for Cedric Soares

4) Andy – 31st place (-4 positions) – 39 points this week – 233 points total

GK – Joe Hart – Manchester City – 1
DEF – Branislav Ivanovic – Chelsea – 5

FW – Troy Deeney – Watford – 5
FW – Harry Kane – Tottenham – 2
FW – Saido Berahino – West Brom – 9

NOTE: Phil Jagielka was automatically substituted for Cheikhou Kouyate

Andy finally saw the dividends of Saido Berahino scoring for West Brom. Not a spectacular weekend but very solid.

5) Evan – 35th place (-9 positions) – 34 points this week – 229 points total

GK – Tim Krul – Newcastle United – 1
DEF – Neil Taylor – Swansea – 6
DEF – Gary Cahill – Chelsea – 6

MID – Marc Albrighton – Leicester City – 1
MID – Dusan Tadic – Southampton – 2
FW – Callum Wilson – AFC Bournemouth – 7
FW – Harry Kane – Tottenham – 2

By getting a couple clean sheets and a goal by Callum Wilson, Evan had a solid week as well. His only issue were others around him did way better and he dropped.

6) Phillip – 38th place (-3 positions) – 45 points this week – 222 points total

GK – Boaz Myhill – West Brom – 7
DEF – Eliquim Mangala – Manchester City – 0
DEF – Aleksandar Kolarov – Manchester City – 0
DEF – Bacary Sagna – Manchester City – 3
DEF – Aaron Cresswell – West Ham – 2
MID – Andre Ayew – Swansea – 2

MID – Ross Barkley – Everton – 3
FW – Bafetimbi Gomis – Swansea – 2
FW – Callum Wilson (captain) – AFC Bournemouth – 14
FW – Olivier Giroud – Arsenal – 1

The gamble of having nothing but Manchester City defenders drew snake eyes this past weekend. When Manchester City scored a clean sheet, that would bring at least 18 points but once West Ham scored twice, those points went away.
