VIDEO: Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney scores at Goodison Park for first time since 2007

It took a while but Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney has scored in his old stomping grounds of Goodison Park as he scored against his old team Everton in their home for the first time since 2007. With the goal, he also tied Andrew Cole for 2nd in most goals scored by a player in the Premier League era with 187. Alan Shearer is first with 260.

The play started with a poor Everton clearance and Manchester United pounced on the counterattack. The makeshift Everton backline, who wasn’t playing much defense anyway, couldn’t really do much here and Rooney got behind the play. In a somewhat difficult angle, Rooney took the shot and there was nothing Tim Howard could do. Manchester United went up 3-0 and grabbed the win.
