VIDEO: Nike Launches “American Woman” Ad Before USWNT/Sweden

With just hours until the USWNT kicks off to begin their 7th World Cup, Nike unveiled this pretty terrific ad featuring the team training to the tune of “American Woman.” And when I say “American Woman,” they don’t use the Lenny Kravitz version, they used The Guess Who version (aka the good version).

The commercial itself shows members of the USWNT training mixed in with clips of females playing soccer (while wearing Nike equipment) with the tagline at the end reading, “Stong Alone, Unstoppable Together.” It shows that while there’s competitiveness within the team, everyone has a common goal at the end of the day and that takes the entire team to achieve that goal. Pretty good commercial and pretty good song to get pumped up to before tonight’s game.
