There are some goals that just defy all logic and physics. Dimitri Payet’s 41st minute free kick goal was just that. The amount of curve is just something that is rare to see and looked like it fooled just about everyone. The goal was also big for West Ham as they need to keep getting results if they want to christen their new Olympic Stadium with European competition.

With Manchester City leading 3-0, it’s unlikely West Ham will catch up any points this weekend. They do need to keep up and make sure they beat the struggling Crystal Palace and maintain their top four hopes.
