WATCH: Paolo Guerrero puts Peru in front of Haiti with a diving header

For 60 minutes, underdog Haiti held strong against their South American counterparts. Haiti stayed in shape defensively, got a couple chances on goal and were focused on trying to get a historic result in the Copa America Centenario.

It took an hour but Peru eventually prevailed against Haiti and did so in magnificent fashion. Paolo Guerrero got open and with a diving header, gave Peru the lead in the 61st minute.

The goal gives Guerrero his 27th goal as a member of the Peruvian National Team, making him the top goalscorer in Peru National Team history.
