The Chelsea midfielder had been serving a two match ban for pushing Ashley Barnes when the Blues played Burnley. The initial three match ban was later reduced to two. Matic has been a key player for Chelsea this season so they were likely excited to get him back from his ban. His return is now in doubt, as manager Jose Mourinho revealed that Matic injured his ankle in the League Cup celebrations. The exact extent of the injury is not 100% certain, but Mourinho expects the midfielder to be fit in time for the Champions League match up against Paris St-Germain. What a way to get injured.
