Report: Pep Guardiola heading to Manchester City

Former Barcelona and current Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola will be heading to Manchester City after a “verbal agreement” was made according to beIN Sports United Arab Emirates channel and Richard Keys of beIN Sports.

If this is true, this will certainly be Guardiola’s biggest challenge as a manager. Yeah, Guardiola can lead teams to league success in places where he only needs to worry about one or two other teams, but the EPL is arguably the most competitive league in the world. He has to look over his shoulder for any team to come up and beat him on any given day.

Guardiola not only has to deal with the other teams in the league, but he also has to deal with Manchester City’s and England’s lack of recent success in the UEFA Champions League. Since Manchester City’s resurgence, they have never escaped out of the Round of 16. Gradual certainly going to have the money to shape his team into what he wants it to be. If he can turn Manchester City into a success like Barcelona and Bayern Munich, we may have to consider Pep Guardiola as one of the best managers in history.
