VIDEO: Humans fooled, Swansea wins due to goal line technology

God bless goal line technology!!!

Swansea won over Arsenal due to a Bafetimbi Gomis goal that fooled almost all the humans, especially referee Kevin Friend, at Emirates Stadium but not the goal line technology system. Seriously, if it wasn’t for goal line technology, Arsenal and Swansea would’ve battled to a 0-0 draw and Swansea would’ve been robbed of two additional points. If there wasn’t a defining moment that goal line technology was the way to go, we have one now.

The live camera angle shot really did make it look like the ball bounced off the post. It even confused Martin Tyler as he thought it was a corner kick. Hopefully UEFA President Michel Platini was watching the game because it’s time for him to embrace goal line technology instead of using an additional referee on the goal line for UEFA competitions. As you can see here, goal line technology can be used as a tool by the referees to make the right decision. There is absolutely no reason why this shouldn’t be universally embraced.
