5. Shaun Wright-Phillips
As part of the Wright-Phillips soccer family, Shaun got his start with Manchester City. The winger had a couple spells with Manchester City but was sold to QPR the season before City won it all. Even so, Shaun became the rare shining light in Manchester City’s dark years in the early 2000’s.
4. Vincent Kompany
The rock of the Man City back line. The team is like night and day depending on if he’s on or off the field. The captain rarely lets anything by and commands the middle of the field like a general. You know you’re going to have a tough day as a striker if you have to deal with Vincent Kompany
3. Eric Brook
Eric Brook still holds the record as the highest goalscorer in Manchester City history with 177 goals. Brook’s record has lasted since 1939 and it’s going to take a while before someone can match that. Sergio Aguero is the current leader among active players with 75. Brook is still regarded as one of the best players in English national team history.
