Champions League proving to be neutral fans dream so far

Soccer may not be the same if you don’t have a rooting interest. After all, screaming love for your favorite side and hatred for your rivals is what being a supporter is all about. For a segment of the soccer public in the United States, they are mainly neutral fans that enjoy the beautiful game. […]

VIDEO: Arsenal’s David Ospina scores an own goal by catching and dropping the ball in his goal

There are own goals and then there are those own goals where you think how on earth could anyone possibly allow that to happen? This own goal by Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina qualifies as one for the latter. For some strange reason, instead of punching the ball out off of this Olympiakos corner, Ospina decides […]

VIDEO: Brazilian Lower League Referee Brandishes Gun Mid-Game

It is no surprise that a referee’s job is a hard job. Everyone on the pitch is out to criticize your work, whether be it the players, the fans, the managers, etc. as a referee you know if you make a call someone is going to disagree with it. That is what makes a referee’s […]

FIFA Bans Former CONCACAF head Jack Warner for life, like it mattered

Jack Warner was a world renown wheeler and dealer in the world of international soccer. Few within the FIFA hierarchy held more sway than Warner did, but it led to many rumblings of corruption and in May it led to the United States attorney general indicting Warner and 13 others within FIFA. The Trinidadian is […]

LONDON, ENGLAND – SEPTEMBER 26: Fernando of Manchester City in action during the Barclays Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City at White Hart Lane on September 26, 2015 in London, United Kingdom. (Photo by Tom Dulat/Getty Images).

Manchester City is clearly not winning the EPL anymore, who will we all jinx now?

For the first month of the English Premier League season, everyone was inclined to hand Manchester City the trophy even though there is still eight months of league play left. Now that Manchester City lost two EPL games in a row, despite the fact that they’re still one point out of the lead, it’s clear […]

LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND – NOVEMBER 23: Daniel Sturridge of Liverpool celebrates scoring his team’s third goal during the Barclays Premier League match between Everton and Liverpool at Goodison Park on November 23, 2013 in Liverpool, England. (Photo by Alex Livesey/Getty Images)

Can a healthy Daniel Sturridge solve Liverpool’s defensive woes?

It’s kind of an oxymoron to suggest that a striker can be the person to solve a soccer team’s defensive issues. Sure enough, Daniel Sturridge coming back to Liverpool and becoming the healthy Sturridge of old this past weekend against Aston Villa, completely made people forget about the ineptitude of that Liverpool back line. Against […]

What has happened to Chelsea this season?

While Chelsea may have avoided their worst start to a Premier League campaign in the club’s history this past weekend, it showed that there is still a lot to improve upon at Stamford Bridge after the club’s 2-2 draw with lowly Newcastle this past weekend. Just one year ago, it looked like Chelsea was going […]

VIDEO: This player earns his excessive celebration yellow card by using an ambulance

If this was five years ago, I could imagine Chad Ochocinco (or Johnson or whatever his last name is now) coming up with an idea like this. Anyway, an Argentinian League player celebrated his goal by getting into an ambulance on the endline and unsuccessfully tried to honk the horn or turn on the sirens […]

Spanish magazine takes down Gonzalo Higuain’s “overrated” statements on Ronaldo

After an “interview” with Spanish magazine Don Balon, Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain supposedly made remarks about Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo. The interview was posted on their website, in which he said among other things, that Ronaldo was “overrated” and that Ronaldo “has a very big ego.” After both Napoli and Higuain deny that such an interview […]

Down 2-0, Chelsea comes back in final 15 minutes to draw Newcastle 2-2

Newcastle United and the Newcastle fans at St. James Park and all over the world thought they had this game won. They held tough and at times, Newcastle looked like the better team but they just couldn’t hold on to their 2-0 lead on defending Premier League champions Chelsea. In a game in which, before […]

VIDEO: Daniel Sturridge is officially back with this superb first time volley

It’s fair to say Liverpool have had their ups and downs, well just downs pretty much this season. This brilliant goal by Daniel Sturridge to put Liverpool up 2-0 surely got a lift out of the Anfield crowd. While Sturridge’s goal is great and is certainly goal of the week material, the flick by James […]

Lionel Messi off with knee injury after 10 minutes into game

Barcelona’s Lionel Messi had to be taken off after just 10 minutes in today’s La Liga game against Las Palmas due to an apparent knee injury. It’s unknown in terms of the extent of the injury but it appeared that Messi knocked knees with the Las Palmas defender as Messi was heading toward goal. Uh-Oh!!!
