6. Luis Suarez

For a player to be on this list after having been at the club for a short 3 years (especially this high), they have to be good. Damn good. That’s exactly what Luis was. One of the best players I’ve seen play live. He could do things that would get you burned at the stake for witchcraft. Things that make grown men giggle with delight. That isn’t to say he was the perfect player. If he could have kept himself out of controversy, he’d undoubtedly be competing with Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi for best player in the world. He could score, he could dribble, and he never gave up on anything. Most Liverpool fans would take him back in a heartbeat, and those that wouldn’t are lying.

5. Robbie Fowler

Robbie Fowler is God to Liverpool fans. That’s not a joke. Go on any forum and he is literally referred to as God. Such is the esteem that this local lad is held in. The most natural finisher of the ball that I have seen, if it hadn’t been for injuries, Fowler could have rivaled Ian Rush for the goals record at Liverpool. To this day, has the best goals to game ratio of any player in the top ten goals scored for Liverpool. That’s quite the accomplishment for a list that contains Luis Suarez, Roger Hunt, Fernando Torres, and Ian Rush.

4. John Barnes

As I said above, Billy Liddell was the measuing stick for Liverpool wingers. That is, until John Barnes arrived at the club. Barnesy was one of the best wingers to grace Anfield, and the list of great Liverpool wingers is deep. The less we say about his rapping the better, but this man had skill, pace, and power. As he started to age, his head for the game was so great that he was moved to central midfield, where he was able to control games with an ease that few have. Jamie Carragher says Barnes is the best finisher he’d ever played with, and if Carra says it, it must be so.
