3. Ian Rush
Still the leading goalscorer in Kop history in a club that has seen Luis Suarez, Fernando Torres, Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler, Daniel Sturridge, and Andriy Voronin. When Rush arrived at Liverpool, he was initially seen as a bit of a flop, to the extent that he requested a move away from the club. Bob Paisley, though, rejected the request and Rush would go on to become the most lethal striker the club has ever seen. If Robbie Fowler was the most natural goalscorer to grace the club, than Ian Rush’s finishing ability could only be described as unnatural, divine. Could, and did, score with any part of his body and forged several of the most deadly strike partnerships in Europe.
2. Steven Gerrard

If Kenny Dalglish is the King of the Kop, then Stevie G is the heir apparent. A player who has single-handedly dragged Liverpool kicking and screaming to victory. There is little to be said about Steven Gerrard that hasn’t already been said. Pele considers him one of the midfielders in the world, Alex Ferguson, the old foe, said he was the most influential player in the EPL. Zinedine Zindane said he was the best player in the world. He is the elader of his team and the spiritual successor of Graham Souness, maybe even more complete of a player than the Great Scot. It was a tough decision between him and the eventual number 1.
